Sorry I lost the page number, but about 2/3 through the book, Ms. Oates refers to a character as living in th East Village, near "St. Mark's Square." Joyce! You live right across the river. Look on a subway map--they're online. There is no St. Mark's Square. There's a St. Mark's Place, or a Washington Square, which you must know, it being a Henry James book. A minor error, but quite shocking from the learned Ms. Oates. Even my mom was surprised.
